The long term goal for many manufacturers is to have its facilities capable of autonomous decision making, based on real-time data being collected & processed.
For AFSB, this is still a longer term goal as we're still only at IR3.0. Hence, one of our current projects is to connect our CNC machines up to an OEE dashboard, to visualise our production performance. Having a system like this in place makes it much easier to pinpoint bottlenecks or identify issues to be solved in a timely manner.
We are exploring solutions from Azure's Connected Factory dashboard, and also Advantech Malaysia | Facebook's OPC capable embedded systems for our production floor.
