Mystical art of Cutting Tools in CNC Machining
Recently we attended online training by one of our tool suppliers, MAPAL Malaysia. Originating in Germany, MAPAL's Penang office is supported by a team of experienced application engineers who conduct technical seminars to support their customers.
This week's briefing was on their new product, called the High Torque Chuck - which as the name suggests, can transmit very high torque for high power milling and good thermal stability. This hydraulic chuck can also provide superior finishing due to its vibration damping characteristics.
These chucks also come in different configurations for specific applications, like the the longnose shown in the picture - standard length drill bits can be used to avoid vibration or breakage that can occur with extended length (and expensive) drill bits.
AFSB believes in continual knowledge upgrading, so that when that special project comes, we will have the right tool for the job!
